As Wedding Cars go, the Daimler Sovereign has long been favoured as the car of choice, but we like to think that our “Dame” is just that little bit different to the usual white ribboned-up Jaguar. The 1978 Daimler Sovereign LWB is a whole 4″ longer than the Jaguar XJ6, giving the rear occupants that little bit of extra leg room, and making the journey a more comfortable one.
The car was favoured in its heyday by the Royal Family, Heads of State, Politicians and other VIPs, and commanded a price tag 15% heftier than the Jaguar due to the amount of leather upholstery and the quality of the trim. Both cars used the same body shell and were powered by the reliable and silky smooth 4.2 litre petrol engine coupled with a 3 speed automatic transmission and a wonderful independent rear suspension system.
Pink My Bride’s “Dame” (HWR 552T) was originally built in Coventry, finished in Old English White with Russet Red leather. In 2011 we completely re-commissioned her in pearlescent Candy Pink coachwork, with contrasting Dove Grey Full Leather interior making her a very unique and stunning looking Daimler indeed. She also has an amazing sound/media system installed allowing you to watch content on the rear screens that are installed into the rear of the front seats.
